I was asked recently, “Can beeswax candles be scented with pure essential oils?”
They sure can. Honey Candles developed Honey Candles® Essentials several years ago. We did all the research and testing necessary to create a safe candle made of pure natural beeswax scented with pure essential oils. It isn’t as easy as you might think. Essential oils can be volatile and it is important to get just the right amount of oil for our candles to burn safely. We don’t recommend that you just pour essential oils into the wax pool of one of your candles. The results may not be what you had in mind. It can be dangerous if too much essential oil is added.
Our candles are lightly infused with essential oils so the scent is not powerful but light. There are now five different Honey Candles® Essential Votives in 3 Packs. These scents each have a unique blend of essentials oils that are enhanced by the natural warm scent of honey always present in premium quality beeswax.
Mulled Spice - Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg and Ginger
Kootenay Forest – Pine, Fir and Cedar
Country Lavender – Lavender, Sweet Orange and Black Pepper
Rosemary Mint – Peppermint and Rosemary

Yes, you read that right. Country Lavender has black pepper essential oil in it. Years ago I was vacationing and I came across a line of body care items that had black pepper essential oil in them and loved the smell. So I suggested black pepper essential oil might work in one of our blends for beeswax candles. Did it ever work! I hope you will give Country Lavender a try. It is one of the most popular scents all year round!
