Make Earth Hour 2016 a 'Gala' Beeswax Candle Event

Feb 26, 2016 By Pat Cattermole

It’s that time of the year again! Saturday March 19th from 8:30 to 9:30 is Earth Hour 2016. This year make it a ‘Gala’ event. Bake a special cake and invite a few people over to celebrate. Put beeswax Honey Candles® 6 inch Gala Candles on the cake, light a few more beeswax candles and shut off the lights.  It will be lovely. I recommend that you light a few other beeswax candles to spread around the room to create light besides the Gala Candles on your cake because they will only burn 30 to 40 minutes – they won’t last the whole hour the lights will be out for Earth Hour. But are you going to wait a whole hour to cut into your cake if it’s as good as the one Marlie baked here? I don’t think so. Enjoy your cake by the light of beeswax candles, shut off your phones, electronics, maybe play a board game and enjoy some good conversation!

This is the 10th year that Earth Hour has been celebrated since the first lights-off event in Sidney Australia in 2007. To find out more about the history of Earth Hour and the events near you check out the Earth Hour website and join more than 7000 cities and towns around the world in celebration!

I had the good fortune to be hired at Honey Candles in the fall of 2004. Experience managing a small rural printing business and 15 years as an elected public school trustee has been a benefit as Honey Candles moves through the need for flexibility and the demands of rapidly changing natural products marketing. I am the Sales Manager and most likely to be the one answering the phone when you call. Social Media and blogging for Honey Candles has been a recent addition to my list of skills.
