Most Beautiful Candles Made in the Most Beautiful Village

Most Beautiful Candles Made in the Most Beautiful Village

Dec 09, 2010 By Pat Cattermole

At Honey Candles®, we may appear biased in that statement, but don’t take it from us, take it from the latest book by Joan Tapper, “The Most Beautiful Villages and Towns of the Pacific Northwest”. Our little, yet bustling Village of Kaslo is home to a mere The Most Beautiful Villages and Towns of the Pacific Northwest1,100 people made the list alongside other communities like Nelson and Whistler Ski Resort, BC, Port Townsend, Washington and Cannon Beach, Oregon. This attractive coffee table book is the latest in it’s series and is filled with stunning photos of these communities that truly demonstrate why they made it to the pages.

Kaslo’s feature: the one and only S.S. Moyie, (it’s also my personal favourite!) I know I have given nods to the Moyie before, but it really is spectacular. Since its last journey on Kootenay Lake back in the 1950’s it has become a Provincial Heritage Landmark and a National Historic Site of Canada, (told you it was awesome.) This beautiful sternwheeler museum is here today all thanks to the group of volunteers who worked on her restoration for 40 years. She now sits proudly on the beach overlooking picturesque Kootenay Lake that is surrounded by towering mountains.

Pick up a copy of the book and add it to your bucket list to visit every town and village in it. While you are here, stop by our shop and grab a local souvenir: Beautiful 100% Pure Beeswax Honey Candles®.

I had the good fortune to be hired at Honey Candles in the fall of 2004. Experience managing a small rural printing business and 15 years as an elected public school trustee has been a benefit as Honey Candles moves through the need for flexibility and the demands of rapidly changing natural products marketing. I am the Sales Manager and most likely to be the one answering the phone when you call. Social Media and blogging for Honey Candles has been a recent addition to my list of skills.
