My calendar says that fall starts tomorrow September 22nd. Are you ready to welcome back Fall? Maybe fall means you have started a new school year! Are you ready to dig out your scarves, sweaters and hats? Nicola bought a new pair boots for fall – do you have yours yet?
With the beautiful fall colors outside comes the need to get cozy inside. For me, that often means having a fire in the evenings to take some of the chill out of the air. It means deciding on a few candles I might like to burn over the next few weeks and making sure I have them on hand. My selection always includes beeswax tealights, a couple candlesticks and maybe even a Honey Candles® Essentials tin. I like Rosemary Mint. They are all made with 100% pure beeswax.
I associate the scent of beeswax with the fall because when I was a child my grandparents extracted their honey in the fall. I remember the whole farm house smelling of beeswax and honey. These days the fall means harvesting the garden which is lots of time spent outside in the crisp air. The harvest results in delicious steamy bowls of soup made from fall vegetables.
Fall means long walks on the Kaslo River Trail where the leaves are turning yellow and brown. Some are a brilliant red. It will soon mean raking those leaves in my yard when the trees shed their coats and prepare to settle in for winter. At our house it means that we have to ensure the woodshed is full, just in case we get the kind of long cold winter we had last year again.
What about you, what are your fall traditions?
