pure beeswax tealight candle burning on a small table in yoga studio

Yoga with Beeswax Candles

My sister loves our beeswax tealights. She will burn them most any time.  It feels most special to me that she burns them as she is doing her yoga. Last spring she liked to practice yoga and meditate with a crocus and tealight close by. She sent me this photo that I quite enjoyed. For some of us it has been a long winter and we welcome crocuses. I can imagine that this pairing of a crocus and a beeswax tealight would put me in a place of quiet reflection.

We have many yoga studios ordering our beeswax candles for yoga practice. It’s not surprising since candles are often used during meditation. The amber glow and sweet natural honey scent of burning beeswax is so calming. A spring rainfall or having houseplants has a similar effect, all conducive to slowing down, taking a deep breath and being grateful. A woman from Bowen Island tell me once that she had friends that loved using one of our beeswax birthday candles during meditation because it burned just the right amount of time for their meditation. Curious I placed a birthday candle in a small glass bowl and held it firmly with local beach sand. I quite like the effect. The small candle has a warm amber flame to hold your focus and lasts up to 15 minutes. Just about right for me.

Do you find that burning beeswax candles help to keep you more centered during yoga or meditation?
