We revamped our Honey Candles ‘Save The Bees’ Program around the time of Earth Day this year. You might remember that in years past we donated $2.00 from every pure beeswax Honey Candles® Peek-a-Bee Pillar that was sold, to fund research to find out why our honey bees are disappearing. Colony Collapse Disorder and poor hive health continues to be bad news. The problem isn’t going away and if anything is becoming more desperate.
On June 30th we donated what we had collected to that point this year. In Canada we donated $1008 to the Canadian Honey Council for research and in the US we donated $36 to the Foundation of the Preservation of Honey Bees. The program continues and we are hoping more of the stores in United States pick up the program for The National Honey Bee Awareness Day August 17th.
Since the program began in 2011 we have made donations of well over $3000!
